Oxford Concert Brass History

Oxford Concert Brass was formed in 1972 as an offshoot of the existing Oxford bands, primarily City of Oxford Band.

Oxford Contest Brass maintained a presence in the chapionship section throughout most of the 1980's, although were classified in the the 1st section briefly when this was created in 1992 before the merger with Kidlington Silver Band, who had also found themselves in a similar situation.

The band was known at various times under the name of its sponsors and these included Halls Brewery and Hartford Motors.

The band always lacked a permenant home and rehearsals were held in Garsington and Milham Ford School.
